Darkness is falling on the mountains and the wind is dying down. You can hear the howling of the wolves. You try to judge how far away they are. The darkness is enveloping you. You feel the chill run down your spine as you try to contemplate what is out there. Every noise you hear makes you jump. Why did you have to go ahead of the group? While building a small fire you look around, watching, waiting, wondering. Suddenly you see a shadow....you hear the wolves howling and they seem to be getting closer. Nervously you start piling wood to make the fire bigger. You know that they will keep their distance if they see fire. All you have to do is survive the night and then you can start finding your way back. Your mind keeps telling you to sleep but your nerves know better and keep you awake. Its getting darker and darker... your mind gets the better of you after a couple of hours. When you wake up the fire is just coals. You have survived now you need to find your way back. Every twig that snaps gets your attention. Suddenly you hear something. It sounds like an engine. Up ahead you see your friends. They have come to get you. You tell the story and on the way down you look back to the forest. You wonder how many secrets it holds.
